The Royal Tiger Horse Registry

The Royal Stud Book of TIGRE International accepts only those horses that were first entered into the probationary book and which proved themselves worthy for permanent installation.

The ideal for gaited Royalty divisionTiger Horses will exhibit an uphill style of movement, and will perform one or more of the smooth middle gaits, including the broken trot known as "shuffle." These horses are bred to excel in such disciplines as versatility classes, trail riding, and competitive distance riding events. Their way of going can be compared to many modern day gaited breeds but with a straight way of going and no exagerated rotation of limb. Royalty registered horses work naturally off their hindquarters and demonstrate a ready willingness to move out when asked.

In appearance, the horse should show a typical Iberian profile, with a naturally arched neck bending at the second vertebrae. The withers should be moderate to high, The shoulders sloping back, and the back should be of moderate length. The strongest middle gaiters will have a low tail set, but will not be penalized for a higher tail set. Strong middle gait will be the judging criterea in all Royalty cases. Legs and height of horse range in refinement but Tiger Horses should always be clean boned with average sized hooves displaying more heel than 3-gaited horses display, which should follow a direct line from the pasterns to the ground. Pasterns in gaited horses are often shorter and straighter than those of 3-gaited horses. The disposition of the Royal Tiger Horse should never be in question and he should be sociable and friendly to humans.

To prove themselves worthy of permanent registration in The Royal Tiger Horse Registry, an eligible stallion must first sire 5 eligible and registered Tiger Horse foals. Eligible mares must qualify by producing 3 eligible and registered Tiger Horse foals. These individuals are then accepted as Tiger Horse Royalty. The only exception to this rule is for offspring born from 2 Royalty registered parents. Offspring born from 2 Royalty registered parents automatically qualify as Royalty.
