Annandale's Holy Smoke was born August 27, 2010. "Smokey" is the first homozygous gaited Tiger Horse stud colt to be born in the 21st Century. The excitement couldn't be greater.  These results were only possible after 20 years of dedicated focus and the right formula to bring back the Soulon Tiger Horse. Not just a "tiger horse" but one that receives THE SOULON SEAL OF APPROVAL an organization created for Tiger Horses that meet the highest standards of antique perfection.  "Smokey" is one of a kind. Using genes from his ancient past, the future looks very bright for the Tiger Horse breed.

Annandale's Hallelujah and Annandale's Holy Smoke are full siblings and the culmination of 20 years of concentrated breeding, and a dedicated focus to bring back the ancient pheno-type of the T'Ang Dynasty SOULON tiger horse, (China 516 BC).

The American Leopard Farm.  Thank you Frank for your earliest enthusiasm and ready support for what we are doing at TIGRE, even though you were not breeding for Tiger Horses yourself. Frank spent a lifetime breeding Appaloosa  leopards to leopards, attempting to prove that the leopard would breed true, if all other unwanted genetics could be eliminated.

He produced some magnificent Appaloosa stock and made a major contribution to Appaloosa breeders for color. Some of his horses were eligible for TIGRE registration. Frank and Tigre's Founder Victoria Varley, spent many hours on the telephone to each other during the early days of TIGRE'S establishment. Tigre is eternally grateful to Frank for the enormous amount of information he so readily supplied on breeding for color and the history of the Appaloosa breed, and for his unwavering encouragement to keep doing what we do..

Tigre is forever grateful to Vicki Rizzo for helping us identify and catalog the Glider Gait of her Appaloosa "Indian Shuffler" horses. Vicki breeds for this particular "wind in your hair" glider ride. The photo on the right (courtesy of Vicki Rizzo) are of her Glider horses, Toby's Pearl Anne,and Red Hawk's Storm with their newborn foal. These horses are now double registered Tigre/Appaloosa, and are the parents of other Gliders which Vikie Rizzo has created, likeAnnandale's Avalanche, and Annandale's Winter Fox, now owned by Nikitia East-Shipe of Legacy Horse Farm, VA.
